Gardens Galore

With long days, soaring temperatures and a strong sun, your garden will be a sight to behold during the summer months. Still, a little special care will go a long way toward creating a beautiful garden in which to entertain and relax. Here are a few tips and tricks to keep your garden lush and vibrant all summer long.

Keep on weeding!

Weeds grow rapidly in the summer months and will reseed if left to grow. The good news is that weeding can be a meditative process—set aside 15-20 minutes of “me time” each day to listen to music, enjoy a refreshing drink, and pull weeds in a portion of your garden. You’ll be rewarded with happy plants and a few peaceful minutes all to yourself!

Give everything a good soak

One good soaking per day using a lot of water is better for plants than more frequent, lighter watering. Add a layer of mulch to help your plants retain moisture and to insulate them as well. The best time to water during the summer is typically the morning. Make the most of it—keep your hose reel at the ready, grab a cup of cold brew coffee, and it’s a date. What a great way to start your day! Pro tip: Our new Hybrid Hosemobile™ products are made with 100% recycled materials, so you can keep your garden and the environment green!

Give your garden some new energy

Use small shears to remove damaged or dead blooms from your plants. This process is called “deadheading,” and it provides energy for new growth and encourages the spread of healthy plants. It will also help contain the spread of invasive ones. Keep your tools handy for simple tasks like weeding, watering, and trimming.
